Melba's Story

Melba came to The Law Office of Zucker & Bennett, P.C. with an unusual case involving lost funds from a CD account.

MELBA: I'm an editor, a mathematics editor, a mathematics textbook editor, and at some point I made deposits, CD deposits for retirement, and I went on to another career which was writing—a technical writer. Then the time came when I wanted my money out. It was 20 years I let it just sit there. And what happened was they had no records. They couldn't find my money. And I wrote everywhere. I tried everything to get my money and it was like just devastating. So I called around, and called around, and called over 150 lawyers after trying to get my money from the banks, and the state, etc. Nobody would take my case. It was a giant company I was up against.
